This book and the exhibition it accompanied surveys the European revolution in photography which was centered around the cities of Prague, Paris and Barcelona.

Titled "Eugene Atget" at the top with details printed in sienna-brown at the bottom: "October 1981 - New York / Zabriskie / 724 Fifth Avenue New York 10019 / 37 Rue Quincampoix 75004 Paris". The poster is illustrated with a soft-hued sienna-toned photograph by Atget of homes along the side of a staircase in Montmartre. The 21-5/8 inch high by 17-3/4 inch high image is aptly titled "Montmartre 1924". There are creases to the edges and corners of the poster with pinholes to all 4 corners. Good.

Herbert Matter [1907-1984] was a Swiss-born American photographer and graphic designer known for his pioneering use of photomontage in commercial art. His innovative and experimental work helped shape the vocabulary of 20th-century graphic design.

Very good. - sc A superb vintage sepia-toned photograph by Mathew Brady depicting the members of the Produce Exchange of Philadelphia posed on the stairs in front of the White Columns of one of Washington's official buildings. "Brady Photo / Wash D.C. Feby 27 1890" is printed at bottom left within the image. The 14-1/4 inch high by 21 inch wide photograph is mounted onto a 17-1/4 inch high by 22 inch wide gray mount titled in bold black letters along the bottom of the mount. There is some slight spotting and soiling to the photograph and a couple of narrow light green ink stains along the right edge of the photo and on the mount. The edges and corners of the original gray mount are stained with pieces chipped out from the top corners of the mount. The whole is matted within a 22 inch high by 26 inch wide creamy white mat. This mat is only slightly soiled.
