L. L. Hammerich was Professor of Germanic Philology at the University of Copenhagen and Chairman of the Lecturers Committee [Danish Lecturers Abroad] since its commission by the Danish Ministry of Education in 1937. Towards the end of World War II he set out to document his country's achievements in the field of international education and to promote a vision of cultural cooperation that would counter the destruction and isolation created by the war. The text is in Danish.
