Else, a very good complete copy of this scarce book which would be well-worth binding.

The scarce first edition.

Claudius James Rich's report originally appeared in a Viennese journal entitled "Mines de l'Orient". This first edition was printed in England before the author had the opportunity to correct numerous topographical errors. First Edition.

Armin von Gerkan [1885-1969] was a Baltic German classical archaeologist and a member of a Baltic aristocratic family. He was an expert in archaeoloical building research and a seminal figure in ancient architectural history. The present text is a study of the city wall of Palmyra, Syria.
