Washington Allston, described by Coleridge as "a man of genius" was the earliest of America's romantic artists. This book was published to accompany an exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of Allston's birth, which was shown at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
