A checklist of Perishable Press publications, prepared to accompany the Grolier Club exhibition. Kyle Schlesinger writes in his foreword: "Walter Hamady is a renowned papermaker, printer, artist, poet, teacher, and the proprietor of The Perishable Press Limited. The Press was established in 1964 and is regarded internationally for its distinguished handmade publications. Among the most innovative (and influential) American bookmakers of the Postwar Era, he has produced an eclectic corpus of titles in the last four decades. The [press] has published the works of some of the most innovative contemporary writers of the last three generations, including Paul Blackburn, Robert Creeley, Robert Duncan, Denise Levertov, George Oppen, Joel Oppenheimer, Jerome Rothenberg, Armand Schwerner, Diane Wakoski, Keith and Rosmarie Waldrop and John Wieners...." The checklist is modeled on the format of an "anecdotally annotated checklist" prepared by Hamady in 1984.
