Black-and-white illustrations. The title page is lightly soiled with its front edge chipped & there are several pinholes in the front margins of pages 9-16. The page corners are lightly bumped & there is some creasing & occasional chipping to the page edges. The publication has been folded once. Very good.
A special supplement to "AfterImage" published to accompany an exhibition held at the Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, NY from May 18 to August 31, 1984. "The Czech Avant-Garde and the Book" is described by Jaroslav Andel as "the first retrospective exhibition devoted to this subject and the first comprehensive presentation of the stylistic development of the book in the first half of the twentieth century." There are brief bios of all the artists in the exhibition. The text is in English.
