The dw has light staining to the rear panel along the spine & horizontal indentations across the top edge of the rear panel & the lower half of the front panel. 286 pp., printed on gray stock. The top corner of the front endpaper is creased & the page edges are darkened. Profusely illustrated with 12 tipped-in color plates, 160 pp. of B&W photographic illustrations & 29 maps & plans. Good.

Ruins in the Far East, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas are explored in text and photographs. Among them are Angkor Wat, Tintern Abbey, Persopolis, Petra, Baalbek, Leptis Magna, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu and Troy. Dust jacket present.
