Published in conjunction with an exhibition organized by the Internationalen Stiftung Mozarteum, Salzburg and the Bayerischen Vereinsbank, Munich. Among the artists included are Paul Klee, Marc Chagall and Oskar Kokoschka. The text is printed in German and English.

(Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus). VINTAGE PROGRAM FOR A 1938 MUNICH PERFORMANCE OF MOZART'S "DON GIOVANNI" AT THE MUNCHENER FESTSPIELE.
Munich, 1938. 1938. Good
- Octavo, 9-1/2 inches high by 6-3/4 inches wide. Softcover, bound in printed creamy white stapled wraps. The covers are soiled and darkened at the edges with some minor creases to the corners and a tiny tear to the head of the spine. 28 pages with an [8] page program insert at the center and 8 pages of ads at the rear. The program is profusely illustrated throughout. Good.

The original program for the August 19th, 1938 World War Two period performance of Don Giovanni. The cover text reads: "Bayerische Staatssoper / Munchener Festspiele 1938 / 24. Juli bis 7. September / Kunstlerische Leitung: Clemens Krauss". The title charecter is performed by Heinrich Rehkemper. Among the illustrations is a full-page portrait of Adolf Wagner attired in a military officer's uniform of the period.

Laid in at the front of the program is an 8-page summary of the opera with text in English, French, and Italian.

Additionally laid in is an advertising flyer for the Parfumerie B. Tochtermann.
