Very good - Small oblong quarto [7-1/2 inches high by 10-1/2 inches wide], softcover bound in vermilion wrappers. There are some small, light creases to the wraps with several paper-clip marks to the top edge of the rear wrap. [128] pages of photographic illustrations in black & gray. Very good. A number of the photographs are of sporting subjects: pony-trotting and tennis. Printed on the bottom edge of the rear wrap is: "Brad Brace / Canada Council / Fairway Press, Kitchener / Private & Public Purchases". Two 2-inch by 3-1/2-inch cards are laid in: one is Brad Brace's business card listing "Installations / Publications / 16mm Films" below his name, with his Toronto address; the other card is printed with a paragraph of poetical prose and an appeal to customers to "help finance the subsequent title by purchasing this self-published book". Canadian photographer and graphic artist Brad Brace was born in Toronto in 1953. His first one-man exhibition, "Exposure" was in 1973, and this and subsequent projects have involved found photographs, video, 16mm film, slide projections and color transparencies with electronic flash. His series of ISBN self-published books [1980-1995] is described on the Stanford University web page as "a gradual and extensive accumulation and sequencing of homogeneous photographic imagery. The latest three titles in a continuing interdependent series...consist entirely of halftone photographs (no text), printed full-page-bleed on newsprint; web-offset and perfect-bound....These books are distributed and exhibited world-wide".
