- The original 16-1/2 inch high by 11-1/4 inch wide color poster with an illustration by the artist Barry Moser to promote the publication of Chekhov's classic play by the Theatre Communications Group. Moser's superb illustration depicts the three women, each gaily though primly attired wearing period hats. Printed on a pink background, the title is printed in green above the image. Printed in green under the image is the author's name and relevant details: "Anton Chekhov. Translated by Paul Schmidt. Cover Art and Design by Barry Moser". Publication information and credits are printed in small black print at the bottom of the poster. Fine. RARE.

The wraps are lightly rippled & there is some very light foxing & soiling to the front wrap. [30] pages, including inside wraps. Profuse black-and-white illustrations. Near fine. Limited edition of 1,000 copies. 95 items are catalogued and fully described, including a number of early examples of Moser's work.

Very good. 1/1000 copies printed by Harold McGrath. The two illustrations are engravings by Barry Moser, printed from the original blocks.

- A 12 inch high by 7-1/2 inch wide broadside printed on cream tissue [possibly rice paper]. The title "Ressurrection" is followed by a 4-line stanza, with a bold evocative 3 inch high by 4 inch wide woodcut by Barry Moser within which can be perceived limbs and heads with Hebrew script along the right edge of the image. The woodcut is signed "B. Moser" in pencil under the image at right. Two more stanza's follow the illustration with the author's name printed in bold at the end. Slightly creased along the right edge with some foxing along the margins due to the quality of the paper here used. A handsome broadside in very good condition. This powerful broadside poem about the holocaust, illustrated and signed by Barry Moser, begins: "I blame the wind / for blowing dust from Dachau's lawns, / yet leaving pinned / to earth the lies, the madman's pawns...." Our listing follows that of the single copy we have been able to locate at Brown University. RARE.

Signed by five of the illustrators on the verso of the endpaper: Barry Moser, Wendell Minor [?], James Ransome, Peter Catalanotto and Steven Kellogg. Royalties, fees and part of the publisher's profits were donated to The Company of Animals Fund, a charity furthering the welfare of animals.

The outer pages are slightly bumped with some very light creasing. There is a light vertical crease to the rear panel of the dust jacket. Unpaginated. The minimal text is printed in green & yellow over full- and double-page color illustrations by Barry Moser. Very good. Original page proofs. Moser's paintings were executed in ink and transparent watercolor on paper handmade by Simon Green at the Barcham Green Mills, Maidston, Kent, U.K. The calligraphy is by Reassurance Wunder. The book was designed by Barry Moser and Christine Kettner.
