The dw is lightly rubbed & chipped. 142 & [1] pp. B&W pictorial endpapers & title vignette & B&W full-page & textual illustrations by Grace Paull. Very good. First edition. When the farmer has to go into hospital, Mary and her grandmother have to hold together the farm and their animal friends--the Jersey cow, the two old horses, the sick hound, the cat and her kittens and the little brown goat.
