Bicknell, Eugene Pintard. A REVIEW OF THE SUMMER BIRDS OF A PART OF THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS, WITH PREFATORY REMARKS ON THE FAUNAL AND FLORAL FEATURES OF THE REGION.

- Tall octavo, 11-1/4 inches high by 7 inches wide. Original printed light peachy pink wraps bound into contemporary three-quarter gray cloth & boards titled in holograph on the spine. The covers are rubbed and stained and the cloth is split along the top and bottom of the joints. The original wraps, which are bound in, are slightly stained with a short tear to the bottom edge of the rear wrap and another short tear to the bottom of the front wrap which has been repaired with paper & paste from the verso. 56 pages. The hinges are cracked. Despite the previously listed flaws, the contents are in remarkly nice condition. First edition of this offprint. Inscribed to L.W. Brownell by the author on notepaper mounted onto the front pastedown. The lengthy inscription reads: "I have succeeded in finding an old copy of 'Summer Birds of the Catskills' which I take pleasure in sending you in response to your postal of several weeks ago. Please pardon my tardiness. Yours very truly E.P. Bicknell". SCARCE.
