The dust jacket is soiled with several chips and small tears to the edges. 199 & [4] pages, illustrated with 8 photographically illustrated plates and a full-page map. There is some occasional scattered foxing and the bottom edge of one leaf is torn, not affecting the text. Very good. First edition. Scarce in its dust jacket. A nice association, from the library of A. Avinoff, signed by him in pencil at the top of the front endpaper. An entertaining account of the travels through Angola of the geologist and entomologist Malcolm Burr. "During two years prospecting in Africa, the greater part of the time in Portuguese Angola, the Author carefully observed everything which came within his reach. He was an artist and entomologist who had an important collection of Asian butterflies. He made a major contribution to lepidoptery with his 250 page monograph on the Karanasas. After the communist coup in 1917, he emigrated to America. He was director of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History from 1926 to 1945. Price:
