Carr, Georgia. SHEET MUSIC TO "SOFTLY" INSCRIBED & SIGNED IN FULL BY THE BEAUTIFUL BLACK SINGER GEORGIA CARR. Hollywood California: Published by Malabar Music, Inc., (1952). (1952). Good - What is here offered is the 12 inch high by 9 inch wide 4-page sheet music for the song "Softly" with Lyrics by Joe Greene and Music by Eddie Beal. The sheet music is illustrated with a portrait of the singer on the pink front cover. There are three vertical folds across the pages, and the cover is slightly creased with 2 tiny tears, one at the top and another at the bottom right corner. Slightly soiled at extremities, the music is in nonetheless good condition. Inscribed in green ink "To Marilyn" by Georgia Carr diagonally above her portrait. The singer has concluded her inscription diagonally across the bottom right corner: "You are one of the nicest people I've ever met!! So nice to know you. Sincerely, Georgia Carr". Georgia Carr recorded "Softly" for Capitol Records. She also sang a Calypso number in the film "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" and played the character of Melody in "Handle With Care". Price:
