- Quarto, 12-3/4 inches high by 10 inches wide. Natural buckram backed with tan cloth spines titled in black on the front covers. The covers are slightly rubbed and very lightly warped. The bottom edge of the first volume's front cover is slightly darkened. [6] pages, 24 full-page plates, a [6] page summary plus the publisher's ad; and [6] pages, 24 full-page plates, a [6] page summary plus the publisher's ad, respectively. The glued bindings are cracked and the first volume is shaken with several leaves nearly detached. Else, an internally bright set. Good. These two volumes represent numbers 62 and 63 of "Art et Style", illustrated with a total of 48 plates. Denise Paulme's introduction to the work is printed in French in the first volume and in English in the second. The colophon reads: "Les numeros 62 et 63 d'Art et Style comportent quarante-huit documents d'art sculptural negre. Ces deux numeros ont ete diriges par madame Denise Paulme, directeur d'etudes a l'ecole pratique des hautes etudes, Sorbonne, dont la preface est presentee en Francais dans le numero 62 et en Anglais dans le numero 63."
