- Small quarto [9 inches high by 6-1/2 inches wide], green paper covered boards in a matching dust wrapper. The boards are lightly rubbed & bumped. The dust jacket is rubbed, slightly darkened & lightly chipped. 46 & [2] pages. 8 full-page color illustrations and 22 full-page & textual illustrations in black & white. There is light offsetting to the front pastedown & endpaper from a newspaper cutting laid in. Very good in a good dust wrapper. Second printing of a title in the "Britain in Pictures" series. The newspaper cutting, which is in French, is a fairly lengthy two-column article about an Edward Whymper expedition in the Alps, titled "Au Cervin: La chute des compagnons de Whymper".

- Octavo, red cloth in a dust wrapper. The binding is lightly bumped. The dust jacket is lightly soiled with its spine & extremities darkened & with 3 small stains to the front flap. The head & tail of the jacket spine are chipped. 464 pages. 48 black-and-white photographic plates. There is a small ink stain to the fore-edge & some tiny gray marks to the top edge. Good. Later printing.
