SIGNED LIMITED EDITION WITH AN AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED BY ADA GALSWORTHY ON THE VERSO OF A PHOTO POSTCARD OF JOHN GALSWORTHY - Octavo, red boards backed with a natural creamy white parchment spine, titled with a device in silver on the front cover and in black on the spine. Housed in the original printed red dust wrapper. The dust jacket is soiled with staining to the jacket's rear panel and a couple of short tears to the bottom edge of the rear panel and a short tear to the top edge of the front panel. 80 pages. There is some scattered foxing. Very good in a good dust wrapper. Limited edition of 650 numbered copies signed by John and Ada Galsworthy on the colophon page. An Autograph Note Signed by Ada Galsworthy on the verso of a photo postcard of her husband John Galsworthy is laid in. Ada's note states: To wish you all possible happiness for Xmas and the New Year. From Ada Galsworthy 1947-1948."

The publishers note on the dw flap: "Except for the essay from which this volume takes its title, which appeared in the Limited Manaton Edition only, none of these papers have been included among Mr. Galsworthy's collected works, and some have never previously been published at all. The dust jacket has two short tears to the top edge of its front panel with a couple of chips to the top edge and the tail of the jacket's soiled spine. 105 pages, with an illustration depicting the layout of the stage. An attractive copy. Near fine in a very good dust wrapper. First edition. A 3-1/2 inch high by 4-1/2 inch wide card autographed and dated August 26, 1925 by John Galsworthy is tipped in on the front endpaper. There is some slight offsetting along the left edge of this otherwise near fine signed card.
