- Small quarto [approximately 10-1/4 inches high by 7-3/4 inches wide], softcover bound in printed cream wrappers with a vignette in black on the front wrap. The wraps are soiled & darkened with a crease to the rear wrap. The tail of the spine is torn & there is a piece out of the head. 101 & [1] pages. Black-and-white illustrations. There is a crease to each of the last 10 leaves with very light creasing to the front margins of the remaining leaves. 1 bottom page corner is stained. Good. From the Stefansson Collection of the Dartmouth College Library with a library stamp & a discard stamp on the front wrap. Among the contents of this issue are a number of articles on the depredations of the German invaders, including "Nazi Desecration of Russian Cultural Monuments" by Shostakovich and an extract from Molotov's note "Concerning the Universal Robbery and Despoliation of the Population, and the Monstrous Atrocities perpetrated by the German Authorities on Occupied Soviet Territory; articles on Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky; and several articles on Tolstoy, including one by Maxim Gorky.
