- A 7-1/2 inch high by 4-1/2 inch wide broadside listing the members of President-Elect Herbert Hoover's landing party along with the boats and barge to which they are assigned. Fine. President-elect Hoover, here referred to as Mr. Hoover is assigned to the barge with his wife and his son Allan Hoover. Also present on the barge are his press secretary George Akerson, Mrs. Hoover's press secretary Ruth Fessler, W.F. McSwain and three U.S. Navy Commanders: H.H. Lane, A.T. Beauregard, and H.C. Train. Elected in 1928, President-elect Herbert Hoover went on a trip to South America in December of 1928. This broadside is probably the landing assignments for that voyage. George Akerson served as President Hoover's press secretary from 1929 to 1931.

(Hoover, President Herbert.; and Miklas, Wilhelm). A WONDERFUL VINTAGE 1939 NEWS PHOTOGRAPH DEPICTING FORMER U.S. PRESIDENT HERBERT HOOVER WITH AUSTRIAN PRESIDENT WILHELM MIKLAS DURING THE PERIOD WHICH PRECEDED THE SECOND WORLD WAR.

- The 8-1/2 inch high by 6-1/2 inch wide photograph depicts the former President with Austrian President Wilhelm Miklas during Hoover's visit to that country. This is a vintage photograph distributed by the International News Photos at the time, with the their eagle logo on the verso. The text for a press release printed on a sheet of paper is mounted to the bottom from the verso. The text for the press release which accompanies the image reads as follows: "HOOVER VISITS TROUBLED AUSTRIA - - VIENNA, AUSTRIA.......As a private citizen, ex-President Herber Hoover has been granted unusual courtesys [sic] in visiting heads of various European governments. Above he is pictured with Wilhelm Miklas, President of the Austrian Republic which is now in throes of a crisis as Germany tries to put her Nazi's in control. After his visit here, Hoover visited Germany, dined with Realmleader Adolf Hitler and, according to uncomfirmed news reports, criticized or openly disagreed with the latters methods of restoring the Fatherland to its pre-war power."
