Softcover, bound in black wraps titled in white and illustrated in color on the front cover. 48 pages, illustrated in color and black & white throughout. Near fine. Includes an introduction by Sir Tim Rice and an essay entitled "The Ultimate Fantasist" by Michael Heseltine. A price list is laid in at the front. The author, artist and illustrator Mike Wilks was born in London in 1947. The subject of an award-winning documentary, Wilks won a scholarship to art school at the age of 13 and went on to run a design consultancy. Both his paintings and his writing are rooted in fantasy. His art reflects an unsettling surreal dreamlike quality, while his fantasy adventure novels, the "Mirrorscape" trilogy are set in a parallel world where logic is in abeyance and the bizarre is common. Scarce.
