- Quarto [approximately 15-1/4 inches high by 12 inches wide], red cloth in a pictorial dust wrapper. The binding is lightly bumped with a tiny hole in the cloth of the front joint near the tail of the spine & with a small, light stain to the bottom edge of the front cover. The dust jacket is lightly rubbed & soiled with a small tear to the front panel near the tail of the spine. xv pages & 48 full-page color illustrations with captions on the facing pages. Very good. First edition. Preface by Auberon Waugh. The first publication, in book form, of the giant Polaroid photographs by American photographer Neal Slavin. To assemble this portrait of a country through images of its people Slavin spent years traveling around the United Kingdom with his Polaroid camera which produced 24-inch by 20-inch prints.
