The covers are very slightly bumped; the dw is chipped with pieces out of the top edge & the tail of the spine & with a tear to the front panel; the dw spine & extremities are darkened. [xvi], 262 & [1] pp. Very good in a fair dw. First edition. This book, introduced by Norman Thomas, is Pesotta's account of her childhood in Tsarist Russia, where she grew up in the ghetto known as the Pale of Jewish Settlement in the Ukrainian market town of Derazhnya.
