There is some foxing to the spine & to the front wrap at the tail of the spine. 28 pages of text plus a large section of advertisements with paper samples & examples of graphic design by association members. The last few paper samples are detached. Good.

This issue contains an article on the Adagio Press by Leonard F. Bahr. Bahr [1934-1992]founded the press in 1956, working out of his home in Harper Woods, Michigan and specializing in fine and limited editions. He worked as an advertising typographer with George Willens and Company in Detroit for thirty-four years, retiring in 1991.

The catalog is preceded by the sad story, signed "L.D.", of Monsieur Risel, a book lover and collector whose wife burned part of his collection and who finally vanished, leaving his huge library of books in a "pyramid" in his apartment. The "obtuse" police conclude he has fled to the Americas. The writer, however, believes he has disappeared into his books. He begs that if any of those who have deserted mother, wife and children for the love of books acquire a book with Risel's ex-libris in it, they should treat it gently because Risel's spirit still resides in it.
