Softcover, bound in printed cream wraps, in the original glassine. The glassine is soiled with the corners lightly chipped & with a small brown stain to the front panel. [x], xi- xxix, [iii], and  pages. Illustrated with a black-and-white frontispiece, 4 full-page black-and-white illustrations in the text & 28 monochrome plates. Near fine in very good glassine.
Of a total edition of 560 copies, this is one of 60 with an original, pencil signed etching bound in following the title page. The etching depicts a peasant laborer bent over his hoe.
Gromaire was a painter, graphic artist and tapestry designer. He was strongly influenced by Fauvism and Cubism
