WITH A PAGE FROM THE ORIGINAL WORKING MANUSCRIPT FOR THE NOVEL, HEAVILY CORRECTED & ANNOTATED IN PENCIL BY KENNETH ROBERTS - Octavo, light gray buckram titled in gilt on the spine with the author's monograph initials stamped in blind on the front cover. The book is housed in its original light green paper covered slipcase with a printed paper label on the front. The book's spine is slightly darkened and there is a tiny brown spot on the front joint. The slipcase is rubbed and slightly soiled with a small break to the top of the front edge. 499 pages, illustrated with a tipped-in miniature frontispiece portrait. Near fine in a good slipcase. Limited edition of 1,050 numbered copies with page 479 of Kenneth Robert's original working manuscript for the book, typed on an 11 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide sheet, with numerous corrections to the text and marginal annotations as to dates penciled in by Kenneth Roberts.
