- A printed illustrated biography clipped from a periodical mounted on a 3-3/4 inch high by 7-1/2 inch wide green card stock. The card is signed below his portrait: "Daniel Willard". Very good.

The illustrations on the card are by Albert Reid and include depictions of Willard weaning calves and feeding pigs in his youth as well as railroad views.

Daniel Willard [1861-1942] was a railroad executive best known as the president of the Baltimore and Ohio [B&O] Railroad from 1910-1941. Popularly known as "Uncle Dan", he established the B&O's reputation as a public-minded and innovative railroad. He served on or headed several government railroad commissions and took part in negotiating wage cuts during the Great Depression.
