The set is illustrated with a total of 16 full-page chromolithographs (4 plates per volume). There is some very minor foxing and toning to the pages and the endpapers and pastedowns are darkened. The books are in overall very good condition.
RARE in the original box.
The first line of the song titled "Where are you going to my Pretty Maid?" is identical to it's title. That of the classic song titled "Auld Lang Syne" is "Should auld acquaintance be forgot". "Home, Sweet Home" repeats the title followed by "Mid pleasures and palaces, though we may roam, Be it ever so humble there's no place like home". The song "Sally in our Alley" begins with the lines "Of all the girls that are so smart, There's none like pretty Sally...."
The books were designed in England and printed in Germany.
