- [42] unnumbered accordion folded pages attached to maroon cloth-covered boards & titled on a label mounted on the front board. The book is housed in a matching slipcase. [4] pages plus profuse color illustrations. There is a small area of light rubbing to the front board with a tiny chip to the cloth on its top left corner. The slipcase is lightly rubbed with tiny chips to the corners & staining to the tail of its spine & the adjacent corner of its front panel. Its label is lightly foxed. Very good in a good slipcase An ingeniously conceived and beautifully drawn wordless picture book based on the Charles Perrault/Brothers Grimm fairytale. Each element of the story is assigned a symbol--a red circle for Red Riding Hood, a blue one for the grandmother, a black one for the wolf, etc. with a cluster of small green circles for the forest. The story is told through combining the symbols in different sizes and configurations with, for example, a huge black circle engulfing a small red one when Red Riding Hood is eaten by the wolf.
